Collaboration happens when two or more people or a team work together towards a common goal. Effective collaboration requires cooperation, respect and trust among people. It involves communication and sharing of information, knowledge, expertise, ideas and feedback.
Collaborators are often structured as a team of people with a common purpose or goal to achieve. These teams may be permanent (dedicated to a cause) or project focused and temporary. To collaborate, team members work together at agreed times and places.
However, team members are often physically dispersed across multiple buildings or geographic locations. The larger a company the more likely people are remote from each other. Sound familiar? Remote workers are not uncommon in the business world.
With the recent worldwide corona virus pandemic everyone is experiencing this same phenomenon of working remotely. The acronym WFH (Work from Home) is now a commonly used term.
Since the need for integrated effective collaborative tools already existed, the good news is that solutions are already available. For example, what about Microsoft Teams? As a Microsoft Partner, AKAVEIL has been using Microsoft Teams for Business Collaboration since it first arrived in the Spring of 2017.
Microsoft Teams mimics the way people work together in a live face to face setting. Since its inception, Microsoft developers have continued to add feature upon feature to meet best practices for workplace engagement. Despite its huge benefits and popularity, it’s amazing how many businesses still have not tried it.
Microsoft Teams is included with Microsoft 365 subscriptions along with all your favorites like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint, so what are you waiting for? As such, Teams integrates seamlessly with the entire Microsoft 365 suite.
For example, if you already have files stored on SharePoint, they are easily accessible through the Teams product. Any new files you create in Teams will automatically be created in SharePoint for ease of access as well. A multitude of benefits and reasons exist to take a serious look at Teams.
How about using Teams as your phone system? Yes, that’s also possible! With a strategically selected set of Microsoft licenses, many other services you currently pay for may be combined within Microsoft 365. More specifics on these and other benefits in our future articles.
For now, perhaps you need a little nudge to get you started, but once you do, we are certain you’ll enjoy how intuitively Microsoft Teams helps you run your business anytime from anywhere!
